Improve Traffic Access & Egress for Swingate & Kimberley with alternative exit route

The Issue

For many years now residents of Swingate, a close-knit and vibrant village have been plagued with traffic access issues to their own homes, with only one way in and out of Swingate, any disruption to traffic flow in central Kimberley, be it an accident or road works gridlocks and makes travel to Swingate impossible.
With a primary school centred in Swingate, with many pupils coming from all over Kimberley access and egress is vitally important to both parents and residents and any road issues cause hour long delays to get in and out of Swingate. If there is an emergency requiring any of the emergency services, there is simply no way through for them in the case of these road issues.
Life or death could be in the balance. Why must we wait for the worst to get this issue solved?
Many years ago, residents of Swingate could use an alternative route at High Street, thus avoiding these catastrophic jams, but some years previous the traffic direction was reversed, making Swingate an isolated community with only one way in, and one way out.  County Council Highways department are not interested in solving this problem, and now, with the ever increasing use of vehicles, increase in population and popularity with the school and the proposed new "sports facility" residents in Swingate say enough is enough. Solve our traffic flow issues. Solve them now. Reverse the traffic flow direction of High Street and make Swingate a traffic jam free zone!

We also call on the new East Midlands Mayor to invest money from the Transport Infrastructure Fund available to the new Combined authority to facilitate any necessary Infrastructure works needed to provide an alternate route out of Swingate.
