Dear ELCHK Lutheran Academy,

Students in LUAC have been now suffering from reduced teaching due to the restrictions imposed by EDB on the schools. As the students vaccination rate does not yet reach the 90% threshold, it is not possible for LUAC to resume full day school just yet, however, some palliative solutions exist but need the school management to take action to review and implement them :

• Reschedule the events to limit school interruptions : things like "ELCHK Staff development day" (Sept 25th) or "PD Day for teachers" (Nov 25th) can be rescheduled on days when there is no school (i.e. on Saturday or during Term Break) or be split between several afternoons when the kids are not on campus.
• 3-Way goals meeting are now scheduled on 2 full day, cancelling 2 mornings of teaching. It could be rescheduled on 4 afternoons as to allow teaching in the mornings
• Afternoon can be used for non-academics teaching, PHE lessons can then be rescheduled from mornings to afternoons, making then space in the mornings for some UOI, Maths, Chinese or other academics topics. We ask as well to consider whether arts and music lesson are considered as academics or not.
• Alternatively, Zoom sessions can be created in the afternoons so that student can get complementary teaching for those afternoon when there is no "on-campus" activities.

We, parents and guardians of LUAC students, are kindly requesting LUAC Senior Leadership Committee to implement improvements in the school schedule so that our students can enjoy a more complete learning while staying in the bounds of EDB restrictions. We are dedicated to help school reflect on solutions should the above ones need refinement to allow implementation.
