Our children's safety is at risk. Each day, they play on structures in The Isles at Wellington playground, but their joy is tarnished by the reality that they are touching rusted elements, putting their health at risk. 

Due to natural weathering and wear, the current flooring and structures of the playground have significantly deteriorated, causing potential harm to children's health and safety. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has identified tetanus bacteria, which can be found on rusted metal, as a potential health risk for children, especially if they come into contact with corroded structures (CDC, 2021).

Every child deserves a safe, clean environment to grow and to learn. It is with these facts in mind that we implore the relevant authorities to replace the flooring and structures in The Isles at Wellington playground. Through this action, we will not only ensure the safety of our children but also help them create fond, worry-free memories in a space that is meant to be where we call home. 

Replacing rundown, potentially harmful, and broken equipment will also enhance the area aesthetically, making it a central point of pride for our community to gather.
