A family's ability to make money is crucial; it acts as the family's steering wheel. When the COVID 19 pandemic hit, many people lost their jobs. As of March 2023, the government's most recent estimate of the poverty rate for families is 13.2 percent. For a household of five in 2021, the income requirement is P12,030 per month. The amount of persons living below the poverty line suggests that the Philippines government's efforts to address this issue are not enough.

The government should enhance its programs for generating a living so that everyone, especially those in need, can access or participate. Every family requires a stable source of income, thus the program must assist them in escaping poverty rather than only assisting them temporarily.

Nobody should be needed to live in poverty. Every family has a right to be free from poverty. People in positions of authority have to act because if they don't, who will?
