As students of Oriental Mindoro National High School (OMNHS), we face daily challenges due to the inadequate structure and maintenance of our comfort rooms. The lack of proper drainage, faucets, cubicles, doors, trash cans, and cleaning materials compromises our hygiene, safety, and convenience. We regularly experience flooding and unsanitary conditions which lead to congestion in use. Privacy is a concern due to insufficient cubicles and doors. Littering is rampant because there are no adequate trash cans available. Maintaining cleanliness becomes a difficult task without necessary cleaning materials.

These issues are not just inconveniences; they pose serious health risks for us students who use these facilities every day. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), poor sanitation can lead to diseases such as diarrhea and cholera that can be life-threatening especially in densely populated schools like ours.

Calapan City prides itself on its commitment towards education as shown by its numerous educational institutions including OMNHS. However, this commitment should also extend towards ensuring safe and hygienic facilities for students.

We urgently call upon the school administration along with local government officials in Calapan City to address these pressing issues at OMNHS immediately by improving infrastructure related to comfort rooms - drainage systems need fixing; faucets need installation; more cubicles with doors must be set up; trash cans should be provided; cleaning materials must be made available regularly.
