As someone who attends Artistic Nails and Beauty Academy, this plea comes from a deep, personal experience shared by many of my fellow students. We have been grappling with challenges posed by poor teaching quality due to inadequate resources And/Or inadequate knowledge, sparse and poor-quality supplies, dilapidated infrastructure such as loose outlets and torn chairs, and, most importantly, a hostile learning environment. It has reached a point where good teachers are being underappreciated, evidenced by the unjust firing of MULTIPLE excellent educators who just so happen to all be African American. Another teacher was heard cheering on the firing of said black teachers Who were all let go within a three day span with lack of reasoning. Black students are now in fear of their educational career being targeted simply on the basis of their skin.

Our concern is not merely about the unwelcoming setting but is also rooted in quality education. We find ourselves left to our own devices due to lax teaching methods and indifference from the upper administration, which has led to a slump in our learning curves and reduced clientele for teaching practice. Students Financial Aid Reimbursements are being withheld and/or they aren’t being notified that they have reimbursements to begin with. As result, we fear that our financial aid and our personal resources are merely going down the drain.

Unfortunately the school has only been getting worse since 2016. Parents, siblings, friends of students who currently attend this school have stated that there has apparently been no improvement. 

We urge Artistic Nails and Beauty Academy to take note of our concerns and embrace measures to improve the current situation. An internal audit to ensure quality teaching and adequate supply provision, better maintenance of Academy equipment and furniture, and fostering a more empathetic and student-friendly environment can bring about a significant metamorphosis. It is not only vital for our education but also essential to ensure that future generations of students benefit as well.

Since the issues raised concern the overall functioning of the academy and the quality of education imparted, we believe that the resolution will serve the greater good. Therefore, we implore you to join us in our request for the much-needed change, affirming that our voices are heard and our education matters. Please sign and share this petition.
