I have always been an animal lover. With 2 dogs and 2 cats of my own, animals are not just pets to me, they are family. They've been a part of my life since childhood and their pure souls deserve nothing but love and care. However, it deeply saddens me to see that not all household pets receive the same level of care.

In the United States alone, there are approximately 70 million stray animals. Only about six to eight million of these enter the nation's 3,500 shelters every year (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals). This indicates a severe lack in responsible pet ownership and adequate animal welfare standards.

It is time we change how household pets are treated and cared for. We need stricter regulations on pet ownership including mandatory education on proper pet care before adoption or purchase. We also need stronger enforcement against neglectful or abusive owners.
