To: Pennsylvania State Representative Guy Reschenthaler Summary: Residents who rely on the Burgettstown Post Office continue to experience severe and ongoing issues with mail delivery, outgoing mail, and USPS services. Despite repeated complaints, these problems have not improved. We request that Representative Guy Reschenthaler initiate an investigation and work with USPS leadership to ensure reliable and secure mail service for our community. The Problem We, the undersigned residents of the Burgettstown community and surrounding areas, are experiencing persistent issues with the Burgettstown Post Office that have impacted our communication, finances, security, and daily lives. These issues include, but are not limited to: • Mail that is postmarked but delayed by several weeks—or never delivered at all • Mail that arrives damaged, opened, or tampered with • Outgoing mail placed in home mailboxes or the Burgettstown Post Office collection box that is lost or never delivered • Outgoing mail that is delayed significantly beyond normal delivery times • Difficulty signing up for USPS Informed Delivery • Inaccurate, incomplete, or inconsistent Informed Delivery notifications Many residents have filed formal complaints through USPS customer service, spoken directly with the Burgettstown Post Office, or contacted USPS supervisors, yet the problems persist without meaningful resolution. What We Are Asking We respectfully request that Representative Guy Reschenthaler: 1. Initiate an investigation into the ongoing service and handling issues at the Burgettstown Post Office. 2. Advocate on behalf of residents with USPS regional leadership to address operational or staffing problems. 3. Ensure corrective action is taken to restore reliable, timely, and secure mail service for all who depend on this facility. Our community relies on the postal service for bills, medications, financial documents, business operations, legal notices, and essential communication. Continued failure to deliver these services properly puts residents at risk. Community Impact & Additional Notes Many residents have experienced additional problems not listed above. Petition signers are encouraged to include comments describing their personal experiences so Representative Reschenthaler can see the full scope of this issue. We ask for your support by signing this petition and joining us in demanding reliable postal service for Burgettstown.
