Hi all,

I am writing on behalf of myself and St Mark's residents association about our concerns with the Frant Road crossing by the rugby pitch. There is currently a traffic island there but this petition is to get a zebra crossing and widen the pavement on the side opposite the pitches. 

As I am sure most of you are aware who use this crossing, the volume of traffic is significant, going at great speeds (often more than 30mph) and the number of heavy goods vehicles has increased now they have been diverted away from Eridge Road. 

The pavement is very narrow so can be unsafe for all. The bus stops are on both sides and the pavement runs out on St Mark's side as you go down the Frant Road to town, so you have no option but to cross here. 

This crossing is used by those parking around St Mark's road for the rugby and cricket pitches, so lots of children are being put at risk needing to cross here. 

Please help by signing this petition so we can demonstrate to Kent County Council Highways the need for this and have a huge backing.

Lets not wait for an accident to happen before they take action!
