Improve/Provide NewCricket Ground for Bhutanese and Nepali Communities in Allegheny County

The Issue

The cricket community in Allegheny County, particularly amongst the Bhutanese and Nepali populations, has recently begun to flourish. A game not only cherished but used as a platform to instill physical fitness, mental wellness, and a sense of unity, cricket has become an integral part of our day-to-day lives. Unfortunately, our beloved South Park Cricket Ground on Corrigan Drive has fallen into disarray, affecting the development of our youth cricket team, the Pittsburgh Challengers.
Once well kept by the Pittsburgh Cricket League, the ground is now in a dismal state and immensely unsuitable for use. Our young cricket players are forced to train under less than optimal conditions, greatly impeding their growth and the development of their skills. The lack of a properly maintained cricket ground does not only affect our youth but also hampers the cricket-loving community's vitality in Allegheny County, predominantly the City of Pittsburgh.
Cricket is more than just a game to the Bhutanese and Nepali communities in Allegheny County. It is a testament of our heritage, a commitment to physical and mental health, and a catalyst of communal bonding. An adequate cricket ground will serve as a platform for our youth to grow, not just as athletes, but as productive members of society.
We kindly request the relevant authorities to take immediate action for either the maintenance of the South Park Cricket Ground or the provision of a new cricket ground for our communities. Your intervention will ensure that the growth of cricket in our county and the well-being of our young cricketers continue to thrive. Let our voices echo the love for cricket in the heart of Pennsylvania. Please sign this petition in support of our cause.
