Improve Patient Care and Accountability in the NHS

The Issue

We are calling for urgent improvements in patient care, accountability, and support within the NHS.

Too many patients are being sent home without proper diagnosis or treatment, only to return in worse condition. Many feel unheard, dismissed, or not taken seriously when seeking help.

At the same time, NHS staff are under immense pressure, facing burnout, staff shortages, and overwhelming workloads. This is not sustainable—for them or for patients.

We believe:

- Patients deserve to be listened to and taken seriously

- Staff deserve proper support and safe working conditions

- There must be accountability when care falls below acceptable standards

We are asking for:

- Better patient assessment and follow-up procedures

- Increased staffing and mental health support for NHS workers

- Stronger accountability and review systems

This is not about blame—it’s about fixing a system that people depend on with their lives.

This issue is not just based on opinion—it is supported by real cases across the UK where failures in care, delays, or misdiagnosis have had devastating consequences.

Below are just some documented examples:

Children:

Adults:

Misdiagnosis case (Sky News) – https://news.sky.com/story/family-of-woman-who-died-after-misdiagnosis-by-substitute-doctor-criticise-govt-review-13397225
In many of these cases, it was only after inquests or investigations that the full extent of what went wrong became clear. Families have been left grieving while also fighting for answers about failures that may have been preventable.

These are not isolated incidents. They highlight serious concerns about missed diagnoses, delays in treatment, and patients not being listened to when they first seek help.

No one should have to lose their life before these failures are recognised. Patients deserve to be taken seriously the first time—not when it is too late.
