We, the undersigned residents and road users of North Okaloosa County, respectfully request that Okaloosa County review (1) Auburn Road, (2) Airport Road, and (3) Garden City Road in Crestview for the installation or restoration of reflective road studs along the center yellow line.

Following recent repaving and restriping projects, reflective centerline studs were not replaced on these roadways. Each of these roads has little to no street lighting, and nighttime visibility is extremely poor — particularly during rain or fog.

This condition creates a safety concern for:

• People commuting to and from work
• Families traveling at night
• Emergency vehicles and first responders
• Motorcyclists
• Drivers unfamiliar with the area

Reflective road studs are a proven, low-cost safety measure that significantly improve lane visibility at night and help reduce head-on and lane-departure accidents.

A formal request was submitted to Okaloosa County Public Works on January 28, 2026, requesting that Auburn Road be reviewed for reflector installation. Based on community experience, similar safety concerns exist along Airport Road and Garden City Road, and we respectfully request that these roadways also be evaluated under applicable County safety policies and guidelines.

We ask Okaloosa County to review these road segments and determine whether reflective centerline studs can be installed to improve nighttime visibility and roadway safety for all users.
