Improve Mental Health Education for the Students of South San Francisco Unified
The Issue
The students of the South San Francisco Unified School District are often left without the resources or knowledge to effectively navigate their situations regarding mental health. This is not just a local issue; it's a national crisis.
With the rapid rise in the use of social media, especially during adolescence, beginning at the age of 10, and the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, it is our goal to enhance our school curriculum to include comprehensive education on mental health. By doing so, we can equip our children with the understanding and tools they need to address their own mental well-being and empathize with others who may be struggling.
We plan to work with students in the community to develop concrete and reliable activities that work to assist in their knowledge and handling of mental health issues.
Please sign this petition to create a safer, more understanding environment for students through enhanced education on mental health.
