Improve Melissa TX public transport to reduce traffic

Improve Melissa TX public transport to reduce traffic
The Issue
Traffic congestion in Melissa, TX has increasingly become a frustrating part of daily life for me and many others. I have spent countless hours stuck in traffic, wasting valuable time that could have been spent more productively. I was nearly late for school several times due to heavy congestion, and it also affects routine activities such as going shopping or running errands.
A concern is that buses, which should be a quicker alternative, often end up stuck in the same traffic as cars. Establishing bus-only lanes would allow them to operate more efficiently, making bus travel a better option for many. When public transportation is fast and reliable, it encourages more people to use it, therefore easing the overall congestion on the roads.
In addition to dedicated bus lanes, expanding the number of traffic lanes on major roads could significantly ease congestion. Many routes in and out of Melissa were not designed to handle the volume of traffic we see today. Widening roads or adding turning lanes would improve flow, and create safer conditions for all drivers. Adding more lanes would support better public transportation by reducing traffic now and making it easier to handle growth in the future.
Improving road infrastructure would not only benefit those who currently travel but also our entire community by decreasing traffic-related stress, and potentially boosting our local economy due to the increased ease of movement. These changes are smart investments that would lead to a healthier, more connected, and more efficient Melissa.
Join me in urging local authorities and community leaders to focus on improving our public transportation infrastructure in Melissa, TX. Sign this petition to show your support for a less congested, more accessible future for Melissa, TX.
