As residents of Piscataway, NJ who frequently work from home, we are constantly hindered by poor internet service. Our only option, Optimum, provides subpar service with frequent disconnects and low-quality video calls that make our work-from-home experience frustrating and inefficient. The customer service is equally disappointing - long wait times on the phone often result in unresolved issues.

In a digital age where reliable internet is crucial for productivity and connectivity, it's unacceptable that we're limited to one provider with such inadequate service. According to the Federal Communications Commission's 2020 Broadband Deployment Report, 21 million Americans still lack access to high-speed internet. We believe that residents of Piscataway should not be part of this statistic.

We call upon local government officials and telecommunications companies to increase competition in our area by introducing more internet providers. This will not only improve the quality of services but also put pressure on existing providers like Optimum to enhance their offerings.
