Improve Internet Connectivity for Effective Online Learning

Improve Internet Connectivity for Effective Online Learning
The Issue
I'm a student trying to navigate an education system that has adapted to the global pandemic by transitioning to online learning. But my story isn't just about me; it mirrors the experiences of countless students who, much like myself, live in areas that suffer from poor internet connectivity.
Stable and reliable internet connection has become as important to education as owning a textbook. Without it, our participation in online classes, ability to research, and opportunities to communicate peter out. According to the Federal Communications Commission, as of 2020, there are still 21 million Americans lacking a robust residential broadband service (source: FCC 2020 Broadband Deployment Report).
This situation is not sustainable. It impedes progress and widens the gap in education equality for students in disadvantaged or isolated areas. No student should be left behind because of their geographical position or the socio-economic factors affecting their access to reliable internet.
It's time to raise our collective voice and demand immediate improvement in the situation. Our learning, futures, and development should not have to stutter on buffering internet connections. Sign this petition today, so that together, we can advocate for equitable internet access as a cornerstone of modern education.
