The Baloch Yakjaty community in Makuran, Balochistan is facing numerous challenges due to lack of basic infrastructure and resources. This includes limited access to clean water, healthcare facilities, education institutions and employment opportunities. According to the Pakistan Social And Living Standards Measurement (PSLM) survey 2018-19, only 38% of households in rural areas of Balochistan have access to clean drinking water compared to a national average of 71%. Similarly, literacy rates are significantly lower than the national average with only 41% for males and a mere 24% for females. The lack of adequate healthcare facilities has also resulted in higher mortality rates among children under five years old.

The government must take immediate action by allocating sufficient funds towards improving infrastructure and providing necessary resources for this community.
