As a HGV driver myself, I can attest that the services all over the UK are absolutely shocking. They charge in excess of £30 per night, yet most don't have adequate facilities for the 80+ drivers that stop each night. Some even have as few as one shower available for all those drivers. In contrast, European services are often free and boast amazing facilities including cookers, microwaves, lounge rooms with games, and multiple washing facilities.

We demand a minimum standard for all HGV service facilities in the UK to be achieved and maintained within a set time limit. If these standards are not met, there should be no charge to drivers. Additionally, we call for nationalised charges and better payment methods.
