The air conditioning in the buildings is inconsistent, making it uncomfortable to study and attend classes, especially during hotter days. The canteen, once a hub of student activity, now feels unappealing, with limited and uninspired food options. Additionally, the outdoor seating areas have become almost unusable, depriving us of spaces where we can relax and socialize.

Moreover, the library, which should be a sanctuary for students seeking knowledge, is frequently disrupted, making focused study an uphill battle. These issues collectively contribute to a feeling that student welfare is being neglected, while an emphasis on advertising the campus to prospective students takes precedence. This is not a call for extravagant luxuries, but rather for the basics: comfortable and usable study spaces, decent food and drink options, and facilities that cater to our needs as students.

We envision a campus that truly embodies its global promise—a place where students can thrive in an environment that is both supportive and accommodating. Immediate action is required to address these pressing issues. We request the management at Curtin Colombo prioritize improvements in campus infrastructure, facilitate better maintenance of facilities, and enhance student services. These changes are not merely about improving aesthetics; they are essential for cultivating an environment that feels human and conducive to learning.
