I am a disabled resident of Park Street in Amherst, Nova Scotia and like many others in our community, I live on a fixed income. The frequent and lengthy power outages we experience are not just inconvenient but also financially taxing. Having to replace perishable food from our fridge and cube freezer multiple times a year is an undue hardship for us. We don't have the luxury of a car; hence procuring fresh supplies is both physically and financially strenuous.

Our area may only consist of about 50 customers but this issue has been persistent for years now. It's high time that it gets addressed properly. The frequency and duration of power outages here far exceed those experienced by the rest of the town, and isn't related to downed  tree limbs, but some type of surge. It occurs in the same area every time... a bright light, a loud noise, loss of power. 

Nova Scotia Power needs to finally take action to improve electrical service reliability in our area. Every citizen deserves access to reliable utilities as part of their basic rights - it's crucial for maintaining quality life standards. 

We urge Nova Scotia Power to prioritize fixing this issue promptly so that residents can enjoy uninterrupted power supply like other parts of the town do. Let's ensure that everyone in Amherst has equal access to reliable electricity services regardless of their location or income level.
