The Issue

The only way over to the other platform

My Auntie, who relies on a mobility scooter, struggles to overcome the bridge at Ledbury Railway Station. Whenever she wants to simply cross the station, she is left with two costly and time-consuming options: a £40 taxi ride or an additional train journey to Hereford. If she was traveling back from North Wales she would have to add an extra hour to her journey. Her daily experiences reflect the hardships many disabled people face while using the station.

According to Transport for All, an organization advocating for travel accessibility, nearly one quarter (24%) of all UK railway stations do not provide step-free access, restricting mobility for disabled people. Ledbury Station is one of them.
With Ledbury growing we need a step free access station.

The lack of adequate facilities at Ledbury Station constitutes a significant issue towards equal rights and accessibilities to public transportation. This excludes not just my Auntie, but also a large community of disabled and elderly people from the society they have every right to participate in.

We urge the management of Ledbury Railway Station, as well as National Railway Authorities, to take immediate action and improve disabled facilities. By so doing, we rectify this injustice, which prevents people from enjoying the same rights, freedom, and conveniences of public transportation as everyone else. Make Ledbury Railway Station accessible for all. Sign this petition to contribute to this pressing and much-needed change.
