Improve and Upgrade Trowbridge Town Park for All

The Issue

As a parent of an extra needs child, I have experienced first-hand the limitations of our beloved Trowbridge town park. My daughter, who cannot walk yet, is limited to the swings in the park. In contrast, Westbury park offers wheelchair accessible and booster seat roundabouts - something we desperately need in Trowbridge.

Our local park is more than just a playground; it's a place for community gatherings, relaxation for workers during breaks, and an educational spot where parents can introduce their children to nature. The duck pond used to be full of life and served as a habitat for local wildlife. Today it needs extra care and revitalisation.

The current state of our park does not meet the needs of all its users - especially children with disabilities or toddlers who require more play equipment tailored to their age group. It's time we bring about change.

We are calling on our local council in Wiltshire to upgrade Trowbridge town park including its duck pond, seating areas and public playgrounds. We also urge them to consider installing more disabled accessible playground equipment like wheelchair-accessible roundabouts along with additional play apparatus suitable for toddlers.

By signing this petition you're supporting not only my daughter but all families in Trowbridge who deserve an inclusive space that caters to everyone's needs regardless of age or ability level. As well as all the locals who just want to see the park back as its full potential.
