My Fellow Alaskans,

Our breathtaking landscapes, abundant wildlife, and invaluable natural resources define who we are. They form the backbone of our economy, but our idyllic state is under threat from geoengineering practices such as "chemtrails." This is not just my concern; it encompasses each Alaskan. Our air quality, soil, water, health, and farming—everything we hold dear—is being jeopardized.

Geoengineering refers to large-scale schemes to slow or reverse global warming. While seemingly well-intentioned, geoengineering practices involve spraying substances into the air that, when they descend, affect our environment and our well-being. Research demonstrates numerous adverse consequences, such as soil acidification and negative health effects including respiratory and neurological problems (Science Direct, 2016).

Other states recognize these hazards. Recently, Tennessee took a bold step by passing SB 2691/HB 2063 to ban geoengineering practices to protect its people and environment. As stewards of our glorious Alaskan landscape, it is our duty to safeguard our environment from potential harm.

Let us rise to the occasion. By banning geoengineering practices in Alaska, we take a bold step towards preserving our beautiful state for future generations. The moment to protect Alaska is now. We ask the Alaska State Legislature to follow Tennessee's lead by banning geoengineering practices.
