The 2024 Presidential election is a monumental event for many of us personally, and its outcome has significant implications for the country. Many of us appreciate and recognize the admirable work that President Joe Biden has done for our great nation. However, we believe it is time to entrust the reins of the Democratic party and, potentially, the nation to a younger, more robust candidate. Given the dire importance of this election, we need a candidate who embodies the spirit of change, a candidate who can rekindle hope for the future among Americans, especially the youth.  

On average, the age of the U.S. population is becoming increasingly younger, shifting our national aspirations and perspectives. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, Millennials and Generation Z accounted for over 37% of eligible voters in the 2020 election. In the 2024 election, they will undoubtedly make up an even larger share of the voting body [U.S. Census Bureau, 2020]. We thus need a candidate with the vitality and charisma needed to rally this significant and progressively more influential chunk of our populace.

President Biden has certainly battled for the American people throughout his time in office, but it's time for him to pass the torch to a new, vibrant Democratic candidate, a candidate who can best represent and advocate for the considerations of our evolving society.   A candidate who is still in their prime and will continue to be healthy (mentally and physically) for their term in office.  And most importantly, someone that had the energy and courage to stand up and beat Donald Trump.  

Our future is in the hands of the Democratic Party. It is therefore crucial that we advocate for a candidate that better emulates the values and aspirations of the epoch we are transitioning into, a candidate capable of inspiring the new generation of voters and providing renewed hope for the future of our country.
