Implementing a standardised software system across all NHS trust’s.

Implementing a standardised software system across all NHS trust’s.
The Issue
Due to poor communication and limited access to patient records between NHS trusts, vital treatment was delayed and opportunities for early intervention were missed.
This contributed to the rapid deterioration and eventual passing of a loved one — something we strongly believe may have been preventable with better access to information and joined-up care.
Currently, NHS trusts often use different systems that cannot easily share patient notes, care plans, test results, or medical history. This means doctors and nurses can be left waiting for emails, paperwork, or responses from other trusts before they are able to make informed decisions about a patient’s care.
As a result, patients may be sent home without treatment, experience delays in diagnosis, or be required to attend additional appointments simply because the necessary information was not immediately available.
Introducing one shared software system across all NHS trusts would improve communication, efficiency, and patient safety nationwide. Healthcare professionals would be able to securely access up-to-date patient records instantly, regardless of where the patient is being treated.
This would:
* Reduce delays in treatment and decision-making
* Improve collaboration between hospitals and healthcare teams
* Prevent unnecessary repeat appointments and tests
* Allow doctors and nurses to focus more time on patient care instead of administrative delays
* Help ensure patients receive the right treatment at the right time
A unified NHS system could save lives by enabling faster, safer, and more connected care for everyone.
