Implement Wheelchair Accessible Ramps Throughout All Public Spaces

The Issue

As someone who relies on wheelchair assistance, I've personally experienced the difficulties and barriers that come with mobility in public spaces. Some locations are nearly impossible to access due to the lack of essential infrastructure, such as boiled ramps, which can negatively impact the quality of life for those of us that depend on wheelchairs.

The problem is not isolated, it's a global issue. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), approximately 75 million people around the world require wheelchairs for mobility. Yet, a significant percentage of public spaces and buildings remain inaccessible. This demonstrates a clear and ongoing breach of the United Nations’ Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, which asserts the necessity of guaranteeing persons with disabilities access to the physical environment, to transportation, to information and communications, and to other facilities and services open to the public.

Thus, this petition is not only for the implementation of boiled ramps in all public spaces, but also a call for recognition and respect for the rights of people with disabilities. Ensuring that all public spaces are equipped with the appropriate accessibility features can drastically improve lives, and promote inclusion and equality.

Join us in urging local governments and businesses to take necessary steps to build a more inclusive society that truly cares for all its citizens. Sign this petition if you support our cause. Let's advocate for accessibility together.
