As a resident of Bradley Point South, I face a daunting daily task along with my neighbors: the risky act of merging into or crossing the heavily trafficked Ogeechee Rd. from our subdivision. The current situation presents a real danger given the high volume and speed of traffic along Ogeechee Rd.

More than just personal fear, national reports indicate that more than half of all crashes occur at or near uncontrolled intersections, which reiterates the importance of appropriate traffic controls at such spots (source: National Highway Traffic Safety Administration). This statistic is no abstract number for us. It's a reality that we are reminded of every day as we join the fast-paced traffic from our quiet neighborhood. 

The introduction of a traffic light signal at the intersection of Ogeechee Rd. and Bradley Blvd. would go a long way in ensuring safer commutes for all of us, not just the residents. By controlling the flow of traffic, we can create a safer environment for drivers, pedestrians and cyclists alike.
