On Goodison Boulevard, in Cantley, Doncaster, every day,  cars speed down the street without any regard for safety or the residential character of our neighbourhood. Unfortunately, this is not just an annoyance. It's a threat to the safety of all who live there. In recent times, people have witnessed two serious car accidents due to this kind of behaviour. According to Road Safety Foundation, speed-related crashes take up 24% of all fatal accidents in the UK (Road Safety Foundation, 2020). This is too high a price to pay for negligence. The last accident claimed the life of one person. We must act now. We need traffic calming measures put in place on Goodison Boulevard. Speed bumps, improved signage, or even a reduced speed limit - these are all proven ways to curb excessive speeding and protect our community.
