Implement Sustainable Practices and Improve Accessibility in Dilasag, Aurora

The Issue

I am a resident of Dilasag, Aurora, deeply concerned about the environment and accessibility issues in our community. My sister is differently-abled and struggles daily to navigate through our local school campus due to lack of appropriate accommodations such as ramps or elevators. This personal experience has made me realize the importance of accessibility for all.

In addition to this, I am also concerned about our unsustainable use of plastics which is harming our environment. Our community lacks accessible recycling programs and education about sustainable practices. Single-use plastic consumption is high and there's a dearth of promotion for renewable energy sources.

According to Ocean Conservancy, Philippines ranks third among countries that contribute most to ocean plastic pollution (Source: Ocean Conservancy). This alarming fact underscores the urgent need for change in our habits towards plastic usage.

I propose that we advocate for more accessible recycling programs within our community along with education on sustainable practices. Promoting renewable energy sources should be prioritized along with reducing single-use plastic consumption.

Furthermore, working with school administrations to ensure appropriate accommodations like ramps or elevators are installed will help differently-abled individuals like my sister navigate easily around campus. Implementation of accessible transportation services should also be considered so they can reach their classrooms comfortably and safely.

Let's make Dilasag a model town where sustainability meets inclusivity! Please sign this petition if you support these changes too.
