Implement Stronger Legislation on the Ownership and Breeding of Dangerous Dog Breeds

Implement Stronger Legislation on the Ownership and Breeding of Dangerous Dog Breeds
The Issue
We are deeply affected by the increasing number of incidents involving dangerous dog breeds, specifically XL bullies. Time and again, we are shocked and saddened by news reports of adults and children injured, and in the worst cases, killed by these dogs. This issue is personal to every citizen in England. Why should we bear the threat of these potentially vicious breeds in our communities? No one should have to live in fear.
According to RSPCA, the number of dog bite-related hospital admissions in the UK has increased over the past decade. Yet, the responsibility for these incidents often falls short of the dog's owners, who must be held accountable.
We among the English communities, propose two crucial initiatives. Firstly, all owners of identified dangerous dog breeds should be held accountable with stringent penalties, including a prison sentence of at least 10 years. Secondly, a comprehensive review and reform of breeding practices for such dogs, including potential euthanasia programs for the most volatile breeds, should be considered.
We deeply believe that they are necessary steps to protect our society and discourage the possession and breeding of dangerous breeds. We fervently request the government to take these proposals into account and implement laws that will guarantee our safety and peace of mind. Please join our cause and sign this petition.
