I am a regular citizen who recently experienced the harsh and unjust practices of UKPC, a private parking control company. I received a parking charge notice in error, and upon raising my complaint, was met with silence until the 28-day appeal period had expired. This allowed UKPC to escalate their PCN to a debt collection agency, causing me immense stress and anxiety.

This is not just about me; it's about potentially hundreds of vulnerable people across the UK who are being subjected to similar bully-like behavior from such companies simply for profit! It is an absolute disgrace that needs immediate attention.

The government must impose stricter regulations on private parking control companies regarding how they handle appeals and complaints. Moreover, the signage displayed by these companies should be far more obvious upon entering car parks to prevent innocent citizens from falling into this trap.

According to Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB), there has been an increase of 50% in complaints against private parking tickets over the past five years (source: CAB). This alarming trend indicates that current regulations are insufficient and need urgent reform.
