Implement Stricter Laws Against Illegal Animal Breeding and Selling in Nairobi

The Issue

As a member of a temporary animal shelter in Kibera, I witness the heartbreaking neglect of animals every day. Dogs, cows, cats, goats, chickens, donkeys and pigs roam our streets without care or protection. The current laws are not sufficient to protect these innocent lives from the cruel practices of illegal breeding and selling.

Illegal animal breeding is a rampant issue that leads to overpopulation on our streets. These animals often suffer from malnutrition and disease due to lack of proper care. Furthermore, they are sold off without any regard for their welfare or the conditions they will be living in.

In Nairobi alone, thousands of stray animals can be found wandering aimlessly on the roads (source: Kenya Society for Protection & Care of Animals). This situation is largely due to lax laws that do not adequately penalize illegal breeders or sellers.

We need stronger legislation that will deter these harmful practices by imposing severe penalties on those who engage in them. Such laws should also ensure better living conditions for animals by setting standards for their housing and treatment.

The time has come to take action against this grave injustice being done towards our fellow creatures. We must strive towards creating an environment where every life is valued and protected under law.

Please sign this petition urging lawmakers in Nairobi to implement stricter laws against illegal animal breeding and selling. Your signature can make a difference in the lives of countless animals suffering on our streets.
