I am a resident of West End, Staunton, VA, USA. In recent times, my car has been broken into four times and there have been attempts to break into my home. This is not just about me; many others in our community are facing similar threats due to the escalating drug-related crime rates.

Our neighborhood was once a safe haven for families and children but now it's becoming a hotspot for crime. The increase in drug-related activities has led to an alarming rise in thefts and burglaries. According to the Staunton Police Department's annual report (2019), there has been a 15% increase in property crimes over the past year.

We cannot stand by as our peaceful community turns into a breeding ground for criminal activities. It is time we demand stricter control measures against drugs and crime from our local authorities.

We urge the City Council of Staunton to implement stringent laws against drug trafficking and possession while increasing police patrolling during high-risk hours. We also ask that they invest more resources into community programs aimed at preventing drug abuse among youth.
