My children find immense joy playing in the Dr. Gertrude B. Kelly playground. Sadly, their gleeful moments are often shadowed by the distressing sight of this beloved space being abused. Teenagers congregate here, carelessly smoking marijuana and littering, transforming the playground into a no-go zone for the little ones.

Not only does the littering tarnish the playground's scenic beauty, but it also poses a serious risk, potentially harming the children on contact. Furthermore, exposure to secondhand smoke, particularly marijuana smoke, is detrimental to children's health. According to the American Lung Association, secondhand marijuana smoke contains many of the same toxins and carcinogens found in directly inhaled marijuana smoke.

It is with a heavy heart that we, parents and guardians, are petitioning the local authorities to put into immediate effect, strict regulations against smoking and littering within the playground's premises. We urge the local government body to install signboards reiterating these rules, levy fines on those who violate them, and if possible, assign patrolling officers to ensure conformity.

Everyone deserves a clean and safe environment to grow and learn. By enforcing these regulations, we hope to reclaim this playground for our children and generations to come. Let's ensure a safe, clean, and cherished place for all kids.
