Implement Strict Anti-Bullying Policies in School Systems Now

The Issue

My personal experience with severe bullying at school, combined with the disheartening knowledge that countless others face similar trials daily, compels me to seek change. Forced to endure bullying, many of us don’t even want to go to school, where education should be soothing and enriching, not an isolating ordeal. This treatment fuels feelings of depression and anxiety; forcing victims to battle body image issues. This is not right, and it's time we all acknowledge nobody needs to change to fit a false and harshly imposed standard.

The school system, our intended beacon of hope, has failed egregiously in this aspect. Bullying not only devastates lives but tragically leads some to take their own lives. In fact, a staggering 20% of students ages 12-18 experience bullying nationwide (National Center for Educational Statistics, 2019). This alarming statistic underlines how widespread and destructive this issue is.

We indeed need to give bullying the recognition it deserves as a profound issue within our education system. The plea here is not complex; we are requesting that schools implement strict anti-bullying policies, take reports of bullying seriously and create safe, welcoming environments for all students.

Let's seize this moment, spread kindness, love, make our schools safer spaces and stop this ruthless cycle of bullying. People are perfect just the way they are, and schools should be a place to nurture, not destroy, this belief. Please join this campaign, advocate for the bliss of many, and sign this petition. Let's stamp out bullying, for once and for all.
