The Issue

My name is Wetaunah, and I have a personal plea to share with you. Our children, the future of our community, are currently at potential risk every single day. Their lives are jeopardized due to the lack of proper road signs at an intersection where school busses frequent. This hazard is unacceptable and needs immediate attention.

Why do we need a stop and a yield sign at this specific intersection?

School bus-related accidents account for 40% of all accidents nationwide [source: National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA)]. In our town, the percentage could be even higher due to the high number of children who travel by bus.

Furthermore, according to the Transportation Research Board, intersection-related crashes account for more than 50% of all reported crashes. Installing a stop and yield sign at this intersection would significantly decrease the probability of an accident, providing a safer environment for our kids.

It is our duty, as members of this society, to ensure the safety of our children. All they want is to get to and from school safely. Let's help them do it without fear. Let's not wait until a catastrophe takes place to take action.

Join me in urging the local authorities to install a stop and yield sign at this intersection. Our children deserve to travel safely. Please sign our petition.
