My loved ones and members of our community put their lives at risk daily simply by crossing the road to the bus stop or park areas. The section of Kedzie Avenue in front of Winston Towers, located between Pratt Avenue and Touhy, is a hazard for pedestrians. There are no protective measures in place - no cameras, no stop signs, nothing to deter speeding automobiles. One of my family members was almost struck by a vehicle that didn't even bother to slow down, let alone stop. This isn't the first time. 

Unfortunately, despite numerous pleas to Debra Silverstein's office over the years, no action has been taken to rectify this situation. I've contacted them again and have been told that I will get a call back from their infrastructure representative, this call back never happened. I plan to follow up again but I am just one person, help me show how serious this is! My hope is that with this petition this issue can be taken more seriously and her office will work with our community to make sure that we can safely cross the street to the bus stop and gorgeous grassland and park areas. 

Let's not wait for another near-miss or worse! Advocate today for the implementation of pedestrian safety measures on Kedzie Avenue at Winston Towers.
