As a member of the North Ealing Primary School community, I have unfortunately had direct experience with theft within the school premises. Several of my belongings have been stolen, causing not only financial loss, but substantial emotional distress as well. Across our community, similar stories are far too common, indicating a consistent pattern of thefts.

This is not an isolated issue and it significantly undermines the quality of our learning environment. Worrying about the safety of one's belongings should not be a concern within the school premises; yet, at our school it has become a daily concern. This must change, and we require robust security measures.

Considering the rising incidences of theft, we are calling for the expulsion of anyone caught stealing, as well as the installation of cameras in strategic places within the school premises to act as both a deterrent and a method of catching those guilty of stealing.

According to the Metropolitan Police, school thefts can potentially lead to larger patterns of criminal behaviour in future, which makes it even more pertinent that our school takes a strong stand against this issue (Metropolitan Police, 2020).
