This petition may not be personal to me, but it is crucial for everyone's safety. Our environment is suffering due to improper waste disposal. We are all responsible for the waste we produce and how we manage it.

The World Bank estimates that the world generates 2.01 billion tonnes of municipal solid waste annually, with at least 33% of that not managed in an environmentally safe manner (World Bank, 2018). Improper waste segregation can lead to soil contamination, water pollution and contributes significantly to global climate change.

We need a change in how people segregate their own waste into proper disposal methods. Not only will this help us have a cleaner environment today but also ensure a greener future for generations to come.

It's time we take responsibility and make this change happen together. Let's work towards implementing proper waste segregation practices in our homes, schools, workplaces and communities.
