The Issue

Too many times I’ve seen near misses and heard stories about the dangers near Co-op Academy Woodslee in Bromborough. I’m deeply worried that one day someone will get injured due to the chaotic traffic in front of the school. The road leading to the primary school on Croft Avenue has become a hazard zone due to mismanaged traffic. Cars regularly mount the curbs, obstructing safe pedestrian movement and creating a dangerous environment for children, parents, and staff.

The introduction of a one-way traffic system on Croft Avenue is a necessary safety measure. This change will prevent cars from blocking the road and driving onto curbs, incidents that are far too common and have resulted in accidents involving both vehicles and pedestrians over the years. Creating a more streamlined traffic flow will drastically reduce the risks and enhance safety for everyone involved.

Traffic-related accidents have become a recurring concern. Recently, there have been incidents where children were knocked down by cars and vehicles damaged in the congestion outside the school. These dangers compromise the well-being of our community, and immediate action is required.

Reports indicate that mismanaged traffic around schools leads to higher accident rates. According to government statistics, traffic accidents involving children in the UK are notably high during school rush hours. Implementing a one-way system is a proven method to mitigate these risks.

Addressing this issue is not just about preventing inconvenience; it’s about safeguarding our children and community. The solution is actionable and can be implemented with the cooperation of local authorities. Help us ensure the safety of the Co-op Academy Woodslee community.

Sign this petition to demand a one-way traffic system on Croft Avenue. Your support is critical in making Bromborough safer for our children.
