Implement NHS Questionnaire for Prostate Cancer Testing

Implement NHS Questionnaire for Prostate Cancer Testing
The Issue
My name is Mark Rayment, and I founded Barbers Against Prostate Cancer after being diagnosed with this disease myself. The journey has been challenging, but it's driven my passion to help others.
Our organisation focuses on raising awareness about Prostate Cancer, its Risk Groups, its Symptoms and the importance of Early Diagnosis.
We do this in pop- up barbershops—places where men feel comfortable discussing their lives and health issues openly. These trusted spaces have become vital platforms for education on prostate cancer.
Prostate cancer is now the most commonly diagnosed cancer in the UK.
Yet there is ongoing debate about prostate cancer testing and screening, and over 12,000 men a year are still being diagnosed too late — when treatment is harder, and outcomes are worse.
While policy discussions continue about who should be tested and when, there is a simple, practical solution that could help men right now.
What is the solution?
This campaign supports Mark's Law — a proposal for the
NHS to send a simple Prostate Risk Questionnaire to everyone with a prostate at age 45.
The questionnaire would ask about:
symptoms
family history
key risk factors
Based on the answers, people would be guided to the right next step:
staying informed and symptom-aware
speaking to a specialist nurse
or seeing a GP to discuss further checks
This is not blanket screening. It does not mean everyone is tested.
It is awareness, prevention, and early action — while the wider debate about testing continues.
Please join us in this life-saving cause.
