As a senior high school student, the importance of updated identification cards is integral for multiple reasons. We need new IDs to comply with various academic requirements and to mirror our growing and changing identities as senior high school students.

Identification cards serve as recognition of our legitimacy as students. With the relentless advancements in technology, an ID should not simply be a card with a student's name and picture, but should contain secured, up-to-date, and necessary information relevant to a student's academic status.

Notably, a study conducted by MasterCard and the University of Texas in 2017 indicated that the inclusion of technology in school identification systems improved the overall security in schools by 34% and mitigated issues of impersonation, thus enforcing the need for updated student IDs (MasterCard and University of Texas, 2017).

Implementing new Identification Cards for Senior High School students will not only cater to individual needs but could also substantially improve school security protocols, assist in the efficient carrying out of various academic tasks, and expedite the verification process in cases of academic or non-academic events.
