Baguio City faces traffic challenges, especially in the Central Business District (CBD), due to the convergence of major roads, uncontrolled parking, and a lack of parking areas, which are further exacerbated during peak hours and events.

I am writing this petition on behalf of a community suffering from the problem of heavy traffic flow which has majorly impacted our daily lives. Everyday, we have to deal with noise pollution, air pollution, and the constant fear for our children's safety. The World Health Organization estimates that traffic noise alone could cause over a million healthy years of life lost annually in western Europe (WHO, 2018). Moreover, emissions from heavy traffic contribute significantly to air pollution, causing various health problems including respiratory and cardiovascular diseases (EPA, 2020). The personal and environmental cost of this heavy traffic flow is simply too high. We request our local authorities to take immediate action. Please implement effective traffic management measures, such as proper traffic signal timing and promotion of public transportation, to alleviate the heavy traffic flow in our area.
