Implement Mandatory Three Naps in School Curriculum
The Issue
I am a student, and like many others, I am sleep deprived. The constant pressure of academics, extracurricular activities, and social obligations leaves us with little time to rest. This lack of sleep is not only detrimental to our health but also affects our academic performance and overall well-being.
According to the National Sleep Foundation, teenagers need about 8-10 hours of sleep each night to function best. However, most teenagers get 7 hours or less due to early school start times and heavy homework loads (National Sleep Foundation). This chronic sleep deprivation can lead to decreased attention span, lowered academic performance, mood swings and even health problems such as obesity and weakened immune system.
