As a resident of Harrietts Bluff village, I've witnessed firsthand the challenges our community faces due to poor visibility on our access highways. Many of us are retirees, and as such, our eyesight isn't what it used to be. Nighttime and inclement weather conditions exacerbate this issue, making it difficult and dangerous to enter or leave the village.

Our community is home to 300 residents who use these entrances daily. The lack of adequate road markings - white 5-inch stripes at the roadway edges and yellow striping down the center - poses significant traffic and safety hazards that we can no longer ignore.

According to data from the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), proper road markings significantly enhance nighttime visibility and can reduce crash rates by up to 25%. This statistic underscores just how crucial this issue is for our community's safety.

We call upon Camden County authorities  to immediately implement mandatory white edge-stripes and yellow center-stripes on all access highways entering Harrietts Bluff village. These measures will not only improve visibility during night time or poor weather conditions but also ensure safer commutes for all residents.
