Implement Mandatory First Responders Presence at Oxford Plains Speedway

Implement Mandatory First Responders Presence at Oxford Plains Speedway
The Issue
I, alongside a community of dedicated racing enthusiasts and concerned family members, am raising this urgent issue as we have seen too many close calls at the Oxford Plains Speedway. We seek to ensure the safety of our beloved racers—our fathers, sons, brothers, daughters, and sisters—who courageously compete in this high-risk sport. The absence of necessary safety measures and first responders on-site during these events is a shocking and dangerous oversight. Each car roll, care fire, wall hit, and collision between competitors brings with it the potential for life-threatening injuries, or worse.
Currently, there is no reliable provision for an ambulance or fire truck on-site, an alarming lack of safety precautions especially when major events like the 250 are rapidly approaching.
In 2016, a driver at a California speedway died due to inadequate safety equipment and lack of immediate medical response (source: National Speedway Directory). We cannot let the same happen in Oxford. With over 1,100 annual fatalities reported in motor-sport globally (source: Federation Internationale de l'Automobile), it's clear that these concerns are the difference between life and death.
We plead with the local authorities and the management of the Oxford Plains Speedway to act immediately. Implement the presence of at least one ambulance and one fire truck at every racing event. The momentum and interest in the sport should not override the imperative to protect our loved ones as they partake in the sport they love so passionately.
Ensure the safety of our racing community today. Sign our petition.
