As a community we have lost to many friends/ family due to fatal crimes. It's a harsh reality that children are often the first on the scene, even before emergency services can arrive. This is why we need mandatory first aid training in schools. With crime rates increasing, it has become more important than ever for our children to know how to respond effectively and promptly during emergencies. In many instances, ambulances are advised not to attend until police have arrived which could lead to a much longer wait and critical first aid not being given or not being given correctly, do you live alone with children if you do teaching them first aid could also save your life something was to happen to you at home and only your child was present could they put you in the recovery position or administer CPR while waiting on for help? 

According to the American Heart Association (AHA), immediate CPR can double or triple chances of survival after cardiac arrest. Moreover, knowing how to stop bleeding can be crucial in saving lives during accidents or violent incidents.

By teaching students basic life-saving skills such as CPR and how to stop bleeding, we're equipping them with tools that could potentially save lives - maybe even their own or those of their friends. We owe it both to our children and those who've tragically lost their lives too soon due this lack of knowledge.
