Implement Left Turn Signals on Highways 15's sideroads in Greenwood Park

The Issue

As a resident deeply concerned with road safety and traffic improvement in the Greenwood Park area, Medley Court and Grenadier/Pt. St Mark's. I believe it's time to request the urgent implementation of left turn signals on all highways 15's sideroads, specifically Rose Abbey, Waterside Way, Innovation Drive /Biscane St, John Marks Ave, and Pauline Tom Ave. This intervention is necessary to ease traffic congestion and reduce the potential for accidents in our community.

Traffic congestion is not just a nuisance. It contributes to increased air and noise pollution and excessive fuel consumption; it also negatively impacts the quality of life for residents. In addition to these environmental concerns, the absence of left turn signals causes safety concerns. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), roughly 40% of all U.S. vehicle crashes involve intersections, the majority of which includes left turns (NHTSA, 2010). I'm certain this stands to reason in Canada as well.

These changes will not only ensure safer travel for drivers and pedestrians but will also allow for more efficient movement throughout the area. Reduction of traffic congestion can also lead to lower greenhouse gas emissions, contributing to a healthier environment for everyone.

Please join me in taking action for our community. Sign this petition to urge our local government to install left turn signals on all highways 15's sideroads in the Greenwood park area. Together, we can make a difference and contribute to safer, efficient, and environmentally conscious travel in our city.
