As someone who is fortunate enough to have food in my fridge, I am deeply disturbed by the amount of food that goes to waste in our country. It's a privilege that not everyone has, and it shouldn't be this way. In Canada, 58% of all manufactured food gets destroyed before it reaches the market. This is not just an economic issue; it's a moral one too.

Countries like Italy and France have already enacted laws against such wastage. Why haven't we? It's time we take responsibility for our own waste and help those living with food insecurities.

Food isn't a privilege; it's a basic human right. Organizations like Feed It Forward are creating innovative solutions to stop food waste and feed those in need with surplus produce. But they can't do this alone.

We need legislation that prevents perfectly good food from going to waste, making healthier options more accessible for everyone - especially those who need them most.
