Implement Justice-Involved Re-Entry Programs in Every City in San Bernardino County

The Issue

As someone who has personally experienced hardship post-incarceration and found the path to re-entry difficult, I keep the authenticity of my re-entry journey at the core of this petition. My struggle to find support stemmed from an insufficiency of justice-involved reentry programs in our county. Because of this, I had to seek assistance from neighboring counties such as Los Angeles and San Diego.

I implore San Bernardino County to show responsibility and keenness in ensuring that every city in the county implements justice-involved re-entry programs. My hope is that no justice-involved individual has to go through the difficult journey I experienced when seeking support.

According to the National Institute of Justice, about 68% of released state prisoners are arrested within three years, 79% within six years, and 83% within nine years, highlighting the serious need for effective re-entry programs. These programs wouldn’t just be beneficial to individuals, but they will contribute to a reduction in recidivism and overall public safety.

Let's ensure that San Bernardino County adopts policies that promote the successful reintegration of justice-involved individuals into society, reducing their likelihood of re-arrest and increasing their chances of leading fulfilling, productive lives post-incarceration.

Sign this petition and urge San Bernardino County to implement justice-involved re-entry programs in every city, helping every justice-involved individual regain their footing and live a free, fulfilling life.
